Carbon Fiber Technology

Carbon Fiber is the most advanced material used in the automotive industry. Incredibly light and strong, carbon fiber was created as an aerospace and military material. It was introduced into Formula One racing by Lotus founder Colin Chapman in 1981 on the Lotus 88 F1 car. Sparco was the first to introduced carbon fiber in its racing seats in 1984 and has never stopped designing the most technically advanced racing and sport seats in the world.

Working With Carbon Fiber

Carbon fiber is not easy material to work with. Carbon fiber has a complicated nonlinear stress behavior and requires sophisticated design and engineering to create parts for extreme automotive and aviation use.

Forged Carbon technology

Sparco was the first to introduce Forged Carbon technology to the automotive industry with a 500 Ton Forge Machine. Sparco tests their carbon technology designs according to PPAP or EMPB methods which are most demanding testing methods used by German and other world class car industries.
